- Abstract
The article focuses on the long term objectives of Springs Industries Inc. (SI) as discussed by chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Walter Y. Elisha during the company's annual meeting held in April 1992 in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He contends that the firm's long term goals are to increase sales by seven percent annually, earn a return on equity of 15 percent and increase product development. He adds that SI aims to be the leader in consumer products and specialty fabrics markets in Western Hemisphere. He notes that the company takes the lead in the manufacture of home furnishings, finished fabrics and industrial fabrics. Elisha reports the company's capital spending and revenues.
