- Abstract
This article discusses a case of a 16-year-old figure skater who experienced ankle pain after an intensive training camp. Despite rest and various treatments, the pain persisted. A point-of-care ultrasound revealed a ganglion cyst in the sinus tarsi region of the ankle. The patient underwent an ultrasound-guided steroid injection, which resulted in reduced pain and a return to competitive figure skating. The article highlights the importance of considering atypical causes of ankle pain and the potential benefits of ultrasound-guided injections in managing sinus tarsi syndrome.
