- Abstract
The article examines the role of toric intraocular lens (IOLs) amid the establishment of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery as a standard. Doctor John A. Hovanesian believes that femtosecond laser technology will lessen the role of toric IOLs as the former offers the benefits of precision and cost savings. Doctor Jay S. Pepose states that toric IOLs can benefit from femtosecond limbal relaxing incisions (LRIs). Pepose notes that prospective studies are needed to prove such claim.
