- Abstract
The article presents information on eye bank corneal tissue preparation which improves in over one year. The rate of success for tissue preparation was very high at 98.5%, according to the authors. 913 corneal buttons, processed by an automated microkeratome was gathered over one year from an eye bank to be used in posterior lamellar transplantation. Data obtained from the study showed 95% successful tissue preparation in the first quarter and 99.5% in the fourth quarter which indicates a steady improvement in corneal tissue preparation.
