- Title
Patient interface on femtosecond laser assists placement of intracorneal ring segments.
- Authors
Frangie, John P.
- Abstract
The article describes a modification to the proposed femtosecond technique for the placement of Intacs intracorneal ring segments. The technique comprises the same steps with the initial case reports of femtosecond-assisted Intacts placement, however, the patient interface is kept on the globe during the passing of each channel dissector. An engaged patient interface facilitates the procedure through giving the surgeon some mechanism of counter-traction to the rotational force made by the channel dissection. Advantages of the modification are presented.
