- Abstract
The article discusses what the author refers to as the abusive use of cease-and-desist (C&D) letters as a means to resolve disputes in America as of 2015, and it mentions how many C&D letters contain threats of litigation, as well as demands for legal settlements and fee payments. The author calls for the policing of C&D letters when they are targeting vulnerable populations such as small businesses and individuals.
