The article examine the laws preventing the violation of the North American Free Trade Agreement ("NAFTA) signed by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Topics discussed include use of investment protections of NAFTA to save intellectual properties; interpretation of the Canadian Patent Act, and the American global pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly's claim asserting violations of the NAFTA's Chapter 17's intellectual property rights.
