- Abstract
This work is focused on an analysis of the birth and development of the middle classes category on the works of Gino Germani. His discussion takes place in an historical context under which politics begins to take form under the rule of the demands of the masses, and in which the middle classes, their composition and behavior, mark the forms of social modernization and the premises for the analysis of the political development of Argentinian society. From the beginning of Germani's empirical sociology project, it emphasized the work that he intended to implement in order to neutralize the view point on social reality. This is in contrast with the relevance that the political variable acquired in his work, until his sociology transformed into political sociology.
