- Title
BAE Systems takes $85m hit on Kiwi ship project.
- Authors
SCHOUTEN, HANK
- Abstract
The article focuses on the warranty issues concerning the multi-role ship project HMNZS Canterbury by BAE Systems PLC in New Zealand. It indicates that all claims made against BAE relating to the supply of the said ship by Tenix Defence had been resolved in mediation. It adds that the settlement resolved issues affecting the four inshore patrol vessels and the two offshore patrol vessels of the seven-ship Project Protector. It also estimates that the Navy needs almost 50 million dollars for the ship's modification to be able to operate it and cope with rough seas as it was designed.
