- Abstract
The article critiques the themes of gender and violence in the medieval Icelandic saga "Gísla saga Súrssonar" and how the themes contribute to the structure of enigma in the saga. Topics include the mythic analogue to the events surrounding the saga's murder mystery, the gender view enunciated in the saga and the assertiveness of the female characters.
