- Abstract
Suicidal ideation is the first moment in a series of events that trigger suicide, a phenomenon that claims the lives of thousands of people every year around the world. The objective of this bibliometry was to analyze the world scientific production between 1973 and 2021 around suicidal ideation in college students. The methodology used involved the analysis of 289 documents found in the Scopus database, using RStudio and the Bibliometrix package. Among the main findings was the increase in publications since 2011. The United States ranked as the country with the highest number of publications. The most cited authors were Frank Deane, Dorian Lamis, and David Lester. The emerging concepts were grouped into mental health and protective factors, which were linked to the interpersonal theory of suicide. Lastly, there was little production on social risk factors.
