- Abstract
This section offers news briefs related to the Canadian Society for Traditional Music (CMTS). The 1998 Folksong Competition was won by Petrina Bromley of Newfoundland for her arrangement of "Never Wed and Old Man." There is a plan by singer George Smith to import several items connected with the Harry Boardman Foundation including "Manchester Ballads," a collection of facsimile street ballads selected and edited by Harry Boardman and Roy Palmer. Particular focus is given to accordionist and labor activist Len Wallace's next recording.
