Title
Designer Materials for Architecture.
Abstract
The article discusses the relationship of nanoparticles to biological processes and the development of new responsive materials for architectural design. It states that nanotechnology can be used to enhance the metamaterials to create improved, biodegradable woods and foam. Leading the Biomime project is Lars Berglund wherein researchers harvest various types of nanocomposites, like wood and cellulose to make high performance films, foam and aerogels.
