- Abstract
The essay describes the transdisciplinary, or interdisciplinary, teaching method of a composite eighth grade reading teacher and how teaching multiple subjects at once compares with learning one academic subject at a time. The article discusses standardized testing and teaching to the test, inquiry based learning, and critical reading. A response to the article questions transdisciplinarity’s pedagogical method, political motivations, and students' academic achievement.
