- Title
Cilantro Component Is Anti-Infective.
- Abstract
This article reports that Cilantro (Coriander sativum; coriander) is a popular spice in Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Asian cuisine, and is also a well-known and ubiquitous component of most heavy-metal-detoxification regimens. The Japanese investigators who performed the study also found at least 11 other anti-infective compounds in cilantro, which lends support to the benefit of this herb for treating infections. However, they cautioned that people should not rely on cilantro-containing foods to gain complete protection against foodborne pathogens.
