- Title
African malaria control programs deliver ITNs and achieve what the clinical trials predicted.
- Authors
Eisele, Thomas P.; Steketee, Richard W.
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the evidence of the efficacy of using the insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) to control malaria in the sub-Saharan African region. They refer to clinical studies that report household survey data of reduced malaria parasite prevalence and child mortality. The authors think that ITNs could provide protection but they are not the sole answer to malaria control.
