- Title
Alabama approves Certiport for initiative.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the approval of the Certiport Internet & Computing Core Certification (IC3) as a component of an 800,000 dollars initiative to prepare Alabama students, teachers and workers for the technology demands in the workplace by the Alabama Department of Education (DOE). The Alabama DOE has taken a top-down approach to preparing workers through certification for the technology demands of the workplace. Key certifications like IC3 are being rolled out to teachers, and eventually high school students across the state. IC3 is a leading certification for demonstrating basic computing skills competence. IC3 offers individuals the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and certify their technology skills while becoming more productive. Certiport Inc. is a company that provides training, assessment and certification solutions that enable individuals to develop the skills necessary to achieve more, distinguish themselves and advance in today's academic and business environments.
