- Authors
EDGE, KATHRYN REED
- Abstract
The article discusses the condition of U.S. banks during the present economic slowdown. It is stated that the causes of the downturn are sub-prime lending and excessive commercial estate lending. According to the author, the government bailed out banks that were going to become bankrupt. It is mentioned that several banks accepted funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). The author gives suggestions regarding things that lawyers should know about the banking industry in Tennessee.
