- Title
"Zipper" Links Diseases.
- Abstract
The article reports on the study conducted by David Eisenberg and colleagues concerning the molecular levels of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, type 2 diabetes, mad cow and degenerative diseases. They examined the amyloid fibrils of each disease, which contains watertight molecular zippers. They have observed different protein transformation into amyloid fibrils with closely related molecules. The researchers also investigated the protein associated with human diseases, and found that the protein almost form an amyloid.
