- Abstract
The article presents several Web sites related to science education, which were launched in the United States. The Web site launched by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) gives information on pygmy elephants in Borneo, Malaysia. Through this site the users can track the movements of the elephants online. The WWF uses commercial satellite technology to track Asian elephants for their Asian elephant conservation efforts. The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Teacher at Sea program has launched a new website to involve teachers all levels to get a firsthand research experience aboard NOAA hydrographic, oceanographic and fisheries research vessels. Another Web site is launched by the U.S. Department of Education, for their American Stars of Teaching program to honor the outstanding classroom teachers. For this purpose the department is seeking nominations and information about teachers who are improving student achievement, using innovative strategies. They will check how far the teacher is able to change the lives of their students through their strategies.
