Title
MEL CAMPBELL ON ROMANTIC WRITING.
Abstract
The author discusses romantic writing, calling it a mode of writing which should represent human experience in the broadest possible way, enabling readers to see themselves in the writing, and evoking his/her own life experiences. She refers to this discourse in writing as representativity. She discusses sociologist Anthony Giddens' views on the modern ideal of romantic love as expressed in his 1992 book "The Transformation of Intimacy." Intimacy, erotic writing, passion, etc., are discussed.
