- Abstract
The existing Yebaishou-Chifeng railway has low technical standards, serious equipment backward and aging, hidden dangers in safety, saturated transportation capacity, which is difficult to meet the needs of further development of regional economy. It is urgent and necessary to expand its capacity and promote the reform. Based on the condition and operation characteristics of Yebaishou-Chifeng railway line, combined with its function in the road network and the forecast of traffic demand, this paper proposed four capacity expansion schemes, including electrification transformation, extension of arrival and departure line for some stations or all stations, slope reduction on local section, and improvement of transport conditions. This paper studied the traction quality, transportation capacity, line scheme and main engineering contents of the four schemes, compared and discussed them from the aspects of project investment, operating cost, transportation efficiency and transportation capacity. Finally, the scheme of electrification and extending the effective length of arrival departure line of some stations to 1 080 m was recommended. This scheme increases the transmission capacity of the line from 14 million tons to 29 million tons, and the project investment is the most economical under the premise of meeting the demand of the predicted future traffic volume and improving the line standard.
