- Abstract
This paper proposed an accurate online hierarchical warning method of the uplift pressure of the gate dam. Considering the impact of the uplift pressure on the concrete gravity dam safety, the real uplift pressure distribution of the dam foundation was approximated by the measured uplift pressure connecting line of two adjacent points on the transverse monitoring section. The measured uplifting pressure was obtained by calculating the area between the connecting line and the dam foundation line using an embedded system of edge computing. Based on the measured uplift pressure, the vertical normal stress and principal stress at the dam heel and toe were calculated, and the stability safety factors of the anti-sliding and anti-overturning were also computed. The online hierarchical warning of the uplift pressure of the dam was realized by comparing the calculated results with the corresponding requirements. In order to convert daily conditions into standard typical conditions, the stability safety factor of typical working conditions was calculated by mapping the measured uplift pressure to typical control working conditions using GRU (Gate Recurrent Unit), which was a deep learning model with low complexity and was suitable for the embedded system of edge computing. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified with a practical engineering example.
