- Abstract
Hydrologic forecasting is of great significance for flood control, disaster mitigation, water resources utilization and management. In order to explore the applicability of the HEC-HMS distributed hydrological model in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, this paper used the Dali River Basin as the study area, according to the DEM, land use and soil data of the basin, the watershed unit was divided based on GIS technology and the watershed information was extracted. SCS curve method, Snyder unit line method, regression curve method and Muskingum method were used to calculate the basin runoff yield, confluence and river flood evolution and the HEC-HMS model of the basin was built. The 13 observed rainfall and flood data in the basin were selected to calibrate and validate the model parameters. The results show that the simulated flood peak flow simulation errors are less than 20%, the peak current time error is less than 3 h, the rate of regular 8 floods is 87.5%, and the average Nash coefficient is 0.816. The rate of 5 floods is 80.0%, the average Nash coefficient is 0.710 and the forecast accuracy reaches Grade B. The model can be applied to the flood simulation of Dali River Basin.
