- Abstract
The article features the Isaac and Jessie Kaplan Centre for Jewish Studies and Research at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa. The research centre is founded by Mendel Kaplan and was named after the parents of Mendel and Robert Kaplan. It cites that the project is influenced by the concept of Professor Moshe Davis and is aimed at stimulating and advancing Jewish studies and research at UCT. A product of the centre included the publication of the book "Zakor v' Makor: Place and Displacement in Jewish History and Memory," edited by David Cesarani, Tony Kushner and Milton Shain.
