- Title
The Ethical Implications of Elon Musk and Tesla's Contempt for Public Safety.
- Authors
O'Dowd, Dan
- Abstract
This article discusses the ethical implications of Elon Musk and Tesla's approach to public safety. The author, a Caltech alumni, criticizes Tesla's deployment of experimental Full Self-Driving (FSD) software on public roads, arguing that it poses a danger to humanity. They argue that Musk's disregard for engineering ethics and his use of the "fake it until you make it" and "move fast and break things" mentality is unacceptable for a technology that people's lives depend on. The author also highlights safety defects in Tesla's self-driving software and calls for greater accountability and adherence to ethical engineering principles in the technology industry.
