- Title
Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Balancing Old and New in Literature Reviews.
- Authors
Oldrieve, Richard M.
- Abstract
For the past decade, “balance” has meant including all five components of literacy set forth by the National Reading Panel (2000). At the same time, many professors, editors, and article reviewers continue to require recent research articles in literature reviews. Undoubtedly, no educator should be left behind in regards to recent literacy research. But in order to better understand present literacy research, educators must also learn to create and interpret literature reviews that balance old and new authors and research.
