- Abstract
The results of the development of testing ground based on Hybrid real-time simulator for setting of automatic secondary frequency and active power control are presented. In the testing ground, the model of power system is realized in Hybrid real time power system simulator, while the model of automatic secondary frequency and active power control is realized in the MATLAB with Simulink® Desktop Real-Time™ software. The data exchange between the simulator and MATLAB/Simulink is realized by developing of the specialized software on the C# programming language. To confirm the adequacy of simulation, several simulation experiments of frequency and active power regulation under different disturbances were provided. In particular, power surge, which leads to an unbalance of active power, using different types of regulators of automatic secondary control of frequency and active power, were provided. According to the results, the occurred primary power imbalance leads to a decrease of frequency in the electric power system, which does not cause the action of emergency control automatic. During the process of frequency regulation, the generators and elements of the electric power system are loaded differently, depending on the types and settings of the regulators used. Accordingly, the appropriate setting of regulators can be carried out to correspond the requirements of standards. The obtained results show the proper operation of the testing ground and solve problems of modernization and verification of algorithms of automatic secondary control of frequency and active power.
