Wolf, Kurt K.
- Abstract
The article offers information about the business consolidation of some suppliers of CtP systems in the U.S. in the early stage of 21st century. In 2004, Basyprint, a family-owned company from Germany which has been using technology from Texas Instruments to build platesetters that have the unique feature of imaging conventional contact plates, had been acquired by the Belgian company Punch. Through the consolidation, Basyprint had allegedly placed close to 100 platesetters in Southeast Asia already. Meanwhile, Leutwil-based Lüscher AG was extricated by the Autralian company PAInvest. However, it is reported that Hans Lüscher still retained 20 percent of the stock and a seat on the company board.
