- Abstract
Approximately 65% of SPNs are accompanied by calcification, and rim calcification sometimes helps distinguish SPNs from other pancreatic tumors. (b) Enhanced computed tomography showing a poorly enhanced tumor in the pancreatic body, measuring 28 mm in diameter, with marked rim calcification (yellow arrowhead). gl Left upper abdominal rim calcification is associated with various diseases, including arterial calcification, adrenal tumor, renal tumor, and pancreatic cystic neoplasms such as intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm, mucinous cyst neoplasm, and SPN. Histology of the tumor showed round nuclei and eosinophilic cytoplasm with pseudopapillary growth and fibrous tissue with a high degree of calcification in the tumor wall.
