- Abstract
Child birth is the happiest moment for the mother as she is taking care for it since nine month. Care during those nine months prefers the term Antenatal care. The care taken by herself and care to be given by the Ayurveda with timely observation is Garbhini Paricharya. According to Ayurvedic prospective Garbhini Paricharya refer to antenatal care with recommendation of Aahara (specific diatery regimen), Vihara (normal daily activities and therapeutic procedure) & modifications in psychological behaviour. Acharyas has described monthly dietary regimen to meet increase calories requirements of the pregnant women, behaviour alterations to enhance spiritual & mental status and herbs medication & procedure to treat complication during pregnancy. Ayurveda also suggests avoiding some dietetics & mode of life which are contraindicated during pregnancy are known as Garbhopaghatakar Bhavas. These Bhavas should be avoided and use of Garbhasthapaka drugs which are beneficial for the fetus also mentioned in different texts. This study shows, proper implementation of Garbhini Paricharya, definitely ensures not only healthy child but also normal healthy delivery and helpful to the mother in postnatal period.
