- Title
Collateral therapy? Clinical remission of ankylosing spondylitis following bone marrow transplant.
- Authors
Bond, Thomas A J; Sharma, Poonam
- Abstract
The article describes the case of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) initially requiring anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy until undergoing a bone marrow allograft for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), following which the patient's AS symptoms are in remission. Topics discussed include treatment for ankylosing spondylitis, possible reason for the remission of symptoms, and reason that the AML was unlikely the trigger for the flare.
