- Authors
Tilghman, Carolyn M.
- Abstract
The article reports on the manifestations of Lady Constance Lytton's autobiography titled "Prisons and Prisoners." Lytton's autobiography promotes universal right to vote and the power of reasons. It exposes the British carceral system and the situation of imprisoned women in the carceral. It also reveals that disciplinary practices affect people's perception of themselves and of others. The autobiography also demonstrates the operational construction of the constitution of a political activity which is linked to the production of material rights and socioeconomic status of a person.
