The article examines the England and Wales High Court decision in ABC v St. George's Healthcare NHS Trust and Others over the failure of a doctor of warn a single mother during pregnancy of the risk that she might be a carrier of an untreatable fatal genetic disease. Topics discussed include the claimant's failure to prove causation according to the court, implication of the legal duty to warn in the decision, and the need to reform the tort law on compensation for health risk non-disclosure.
