- Abstract
The project history of the Hochmoselübergang from the perspective of the administration The Hochmoselübergang in the wake of the "B 50 neu" is a large‐scale gap in federal highway construction. It is one of the most important road construction projects in Rheinland‐Pfalz. The centerpiece is the 1.06 mi long and 525 ft high Hochmoselbrücke. The planning history goes back nearly half a century. From the demand plan 1993, the project is in urgent need. The two plan approval resolutions from the year 2000 were complained. A repair procedure became necessary. The Federal Administrative Court (BVerwG) finally gave the go‐ahead in 2008. The state of Rheinland‐Pfalz acts as order management in all phases. The Landesbetrieb Mobilität (LBM) continuously accompanies the project with a variety of tasks. With the release in November 2019, traffic can finally use the route.
