- Abstract
This article, published in Dermatology Reports, discusses the use of an over-rotated Rieger flap for reconstructing a large lateral nasal tip defect in a 65-year-old man. The patient had a melanoma in situ on the nasal tip, which was completely excised, resulting in a circular defect. The authors opted for a dorsonasal flap, which involved designing a flap on the left side of the nose and rotating it to reduce the defect. The outcome of the procedure was successful, with no flap necrosis. The article provides information on the Rieger flap technique and its variations, as well as the surgical skill required for this type of reconstruction.
