- Title
Halcon/Eastman To Combine New Process Technologies.
- Abstract
The article reports that Halcon International and Eastman Kodak Co. have signed an agreement that will allow both companies to combine their new process technologies to produce acetic anhydride from carbon monoxide and methanol. Under the deal, Halcon will have worldwide licensing rights for the combined technology. The combined technology will be used at the Tennessee Eastman Co. complex in Kingsport, Tennessee to make acetic anhydride from raw materials based on coal rather than petroleum. Eastman expects that the use of these combined technologies will reduce its crude oil consumption by one million barrels a year.
