- Abstract
Aim: Oral diseases are a major public health concern due to their higher prevalence and their effects on the individual's quality of life. According to the World Health Organization, 80% of the global population suffering from oral diseases lives in developing countries, indicating that oral diseases are strongly correlated with low income. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among the general population of Daegu, South Korea. A total of 50 people in the age group 15-70 years were selected using random sampling technique Informed consent was obtained from each person. A self-constructed 13 multiple-choice questionnaire was distributed to all people. Results: The results of this study suggest that oral health awareness and practices among the study population are improved than the previous studies but still there is lack of awareness, thus, need to be improved.
