- Title
OVER-EXPOSED? TSA SCANNERS AND THE FOURTH AMENDMENT RIGHT TO PRIVACY.
- Authors
Le Vine, Jennifer
- Abstract
The article discusses if the airport scanners using the "Backscatter" and "Millimeter Wave" technologies which produce body images of passengers constitute an invasion of privacy and violate the Fourth Amendment which protects persons from unreasonable searches. Presented are various decided cases in which legitimate government interests and risk to lives and property justified warrantless searches. It is believed that the scanners will be deemed constitutional in the face of terrorist threats.
