- Abstract
The article presents data from the 1994/95 National Population Health Survey and the 2003 Canadian Community Health Survey for respondents aged 18 or older. The characteristics of recipients of government-subsidized home care in both periods are outlined. There was a trend toward shorter hospital stays and the number of household residents who needed help with personal activities of daily living or with moving about in their homes increased substantially between 1994/95 and 2003.
