- Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the 2004 film "White Chicks" by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans, discussing its serious critical engagement of racial identity despite being a comedy. Discussion is offered analyzing the satirical adoption of white female stereotypical behavior and appearance by the two main African American male characters. Definitions and analysis are offered regarding the concept of "white gaze" in critical race theory. Additional subjects discussed include race privilege, sexuality, and racial essentialism.
