Childhood Trauma and Dissociation in Schizophrenia.
- Abstract
The article discusses research on the link of childhood trauma and dissociative experiences with the clinical phenomenology of chronic schizophrenia. The study involved 70 patients with a schizophrenic disorder who were assessed using various methods, including Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV, Dissociative Experiences Scale and Positive and Negative Symptoms Scales. A dissociative subgroup was found to have general psychiatric comorbidities.
