- Abstract
The Boa Vista Formation is a Neogene sedimentary unity, that occur on the geological domain of Tacutu Hemi-graben, northeast of Roraima state, and witch it's sedimentation occurred during it's structuration. It's a relatively shallow sedimentary unity, in witch it's thickness vary according to it's substrata between 15 to 120 meters. Composed of two unconsolidated sedimentary successions, being the inferior composed of gravel bedded layer, with clasts sizes varying from pebble granules to boulders, and the superior composed of ferruginous sand slightly conglomeratic. The present work was done in three outcrops located on Bonfim city, northeast of Roraima state, on an area exposed by anthropic action, being a discrete geographic elevation adjacent to Serra do Tucano mountains. It's stratigraphic compartmentalization and geographical distribution remain still uncertain, as well as it's corresponding depositional system, therefore this work has done a stratigraphic litofacies and remote sensing study, with the purpose of propose a possible depositional environment. Interpreting and integrating the resulting data, was possible to geographic delimitate the area of study as well as propose depositional enviroments in witch the two sedimentary successions that compose Boa Vista Formation has being deposited as well as discuss sedimentation evolutionary model.
