- Abstract
The article explores the law and gospel of human rights and duties of nonviolence and protection of common good with reference to John Paul II's language on sacredness and love and Professor Michael Perry's " idea of sanctity, human rights and intentional killing. It presents provisional moral cases for in-principle pacifism and jut war theory and defends conscientious forms of Christian pacifism and just war. It comments on social advancements and the limits of rights and self-righteousness.
