- Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the Educational Product entitled "Statistical Education: an approach through Problem Solving for the 1st year of Elementary Education" and to analyze whether the problems proposed in this one, allow the teacher to understand the concepts that guide a class based on Methodology of Teaching-Learning-Evaluation of Mathematics through Problem Solving. Therefore, this qualitative research and characterized as descriptive, discusses the precepts of Problem Solving and Statistical Education. Following, the data that involve the evaluation of the Educational Product, carried out by seventeen teachers of the Early Years, are presented and analyzed. The results indicate that the teachers, involved in the research, understood, through the Educational Product, the conceptions related to the role of the teacher as a mediator and the student as the protagonist of their learning, as well as the collaborative work during problem solving and in the socialization of solutions. However, it is possible to infer that the concept of a generating problem is not understood, since the formalization of concepts / procedures is not understood as a step after solving problems and, in this aspect, there are indicators of necessary improvements for this Educational Product. and, also, indications for future research to be carried out in this scope.
