- Abstract
The educational process, as a constituent element of society, has undergone important changes in recent decades. Academic production presents new theoretical perspectives on the role of the school, the teacher and the teaching and learning processes, resulting in different actions and conceptions about training and pedagogical practice. In this sense, the objective of this article is to understand the process of insertion of university professors, problematizing the relationships between training, expectations and real work. The data presented comes from research that aims to understand the process of inserting professors in federal universities. Based on the (auto) biographical perspective, the study is based on the narrative interview as a research device. Along the way, we present the narratives of one of the teachers, a participant in the broader research, who works in the Mathematics Degree Course, dialoguing with studies on class management and subject management, in a reflective perspective on the exercise of teaching. and the concept of teacher professional development. The results indicate that the conditions and contexts in which teaching takes place, combined with the trajectories of teachers, reinforce the need to implement collaborative training processes in Higher Education.
