- Abstract
In field experiments carried out in the years 2015-2017 on the PD Devio Nove Sady plots, the influence of the climatic conditions of the years on the root yield, sugar content and white sugar yield of 6 sugar beet varieties (Alabaster, Antek, Leopolda, Marenka, Varios and Sioux) was studied. The growing area is located at the intersection of maize and beet production areas. By analyzing experimental data, no statistically significant difference in the average root yield and the average sugar content was confirmed between the varieties. A statistically significant difference between the tested varieties was found only in the average white sugar yield. Differences were observed in ranges of computed confidence intervals for means. The highest stability of the root yield was found in the Alabaster variety with a permissible error of estimation Δ = 3.84 t ha-1 and the Leopolda variety with Δ = 4.64 t ha-1. The highest stability in the root sugar content was recorded in Leopolda Δ = 0.62% and the Antek variety with Δ = 0.66%. The lowest average white sugar yield was confirmed in the Leopolda variety (12.69 t ha-1), the highest in the Marenka variety (13.99 t ha-1), with a statistically significant difference. In addition to the high white sugar yield, the Marenka variety proved to be the most stable with Δ = 0.25 t ha-1. The evaluated varieties showed a different sensitivity to the climatic factors of the studied years.
