- Abstract
The article examines several early 19th-century women's Creek seam/pucker toe moccasins. Topics discussed include tribal differences in the toe shape and finishing treatments, ankle flap shape and lay and the heel seam treatments of the moccasins, importance of studying historic examples in the creation of contemporary moccasins based on the early Creek style, and the effect of disruptions of trade for European and American goods due to the Seminole Wars on moccasin style and technique.
