- Abstract
An essay is presented on nonverbal messages and elements in political television broadcasts. The author focuses on the body language and presentation of politicians on television, with the first televised U.S. presidential debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon in 1960 as a primary example. Televised electoral debates in Spain are also examined, particularly those involving Spanish politicians José María Áznar and Felipe González.
