Title
Survey of scrapie in the Shetland Islands.
Abstract
The article overviews the survey on the incidence of scrapie of sheep farmers in Shetland, Scotland. The author stressed that the high incidence is manifestly related to the intensification of the sheep farming, which occurred in the year 1970s through the 90s. The survey revealed that increased risk in scrapie was connected with larger flock sizes, open flocks and flocks that bought in lambs.
